Milton was an advisor to Nixon and he is the primary reason we no longer have a military draft. He was the first to propose that we have an all volunteer military like we have today. The most moral and righteous and bad ass fighting force the world has ever seen. They won the war in Iraq at freeway speed. Twice. God bless Milton Friedman and the valiant men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

Milton saw the income tax as “negative” if you'll pardon the pun. He not only approved of an income tax but an income to go with it! He didn't insist that everyone finish the economic race at the same time, but he wanted everyone to have an equal footing on the starting line. A negative income tax system is the tax and spend program that I and the other members of FreedomLobby.org support. We think individuals will make better choices about their own needs.

I very highly recommend the Free To Choose series for anyone who uses money or goods or services. And if you can afford it, I very highly recommend that you buy the DVD set and give it to someone who doesn't have an Internet connection -- whether you agree with Milton or not. Or just watch it yourself, it's much more fun to watch from your recliner -- maybe put some Willie Beans in your coffee.
